Medical Officer Wants Local Radios Intensify Anti-Ebola Fight
By Wellington Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, September 29 (LINA) - The Medical Director of the G.W. Harley Hospital in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, Dr. Loraine Cooper, has stressed the need for local radio stations to redouble their efforts in helping to conquer the Ebola virus.

She observed that with the full involvement of local radio stations in disseminating Ebola messages and jingles as well as translating the health messages into local dialects for mass use by rural dwellers, great strides will be made in spreading of Ebola messages.

Dr. Cooper was speaking at the weekend when the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the County Health Team of Nimba ended one-day media training on Ebola Crisis Reporting in Sanniquellie, the provincial capital.

The training brought together journalists from the 11Nimba Community Radio Stations (NICORA) network and was conducted in the compound of the Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) Nimba Chapter.
