NGO Wants More Support To Faith-Based Health Groups
By Ballah Kollie, LINA Bong County Correspondent

PHEBE, September 29 (LINA) - The Chairman of Act Alliance-Liberia Forum, Allen Lincoln, is calling on government to increase support to faith-based health institutions operating in the country.

He said lending more support to institutions that are integral part of the health delivery system will further improve the delivery of services, especially during this crisis period.

Lincoln made the remarks at the turning over ceremony of an Ebola Isolation Unit at the weekend constructed by his institution with funding from the Lutheran Church in Liberia (LCL).

Lincoln added that increasing support to faith-based health delivery institutions will strengthen their capacity and enhance the delivery of health services to citizens.

He wondered whether donor funding to the overall delivery of health services in the country is trickling down to institutions that are helping government fight the deadly Ebola disease.

“I want government to listen to this call as faith-based health delivery institutions are a critical component of the country’s health delivery system and are helping to keep our country safe,” he concluded.
