MONROVIA, September 24 (LINA) - A 22-year-old woman, Rebecca Gibson, was on Wednesday arrested in the office of the Sheriff of Criminal Court “A” at the Temple of Justice for being in possession marijuana.
She was nabbed with 10 parcels of marijuana weighing 0.4grams and valued at L$400.
Gibson has been charged with unlawful possession and sale of marijuana.
The Liberia News Agency reports that during preliminary investigation, it was established that defendant Gibson is a drug dealer who admitted that she was carrying the marijuana to her boyfriend, Elijah Lemeo Reeves.
Reeves was on May 14, 2014 arrested by the Liberia National Police for the burning of the Apostolic High School in Sinkor and was charged with arson and remanded at the Monrovia Central Prison.
Defendant Gibson said she did not know the content of what was in the packet, which she got Reeves’ friend while entering in the court house for onward delivery to Reeves.
At the same time, Criminal Court “A” Presiding Judge Johannes Zlahn , who detested the attitude of the accused, ordered the Sheriff of the Court to escort her to the Liberia National Police for questioning.
