Gov’t, Tolsor Sign Accord On Reserve

ROBERTSPORT, Jan 23(LINA) - The Liberian Government and the Tolsor community in Grand Cape Mount County have signed a contract to construct the headquarters of the Lake Piso Multiple Sustainable Use Reserve in the area.
Forestry Development Authority (FDA) Managing Director, Harrison Karnwea, signed for the government, while Town Chief Boima Senwah signed for the community.
In remarks at the ceremony in Tolsor Wednesday, Mr. Karnwea assured the citizens that government will do everything possible to improve their living standard in the aftermath of the civil conflict.
The FDA boss observed that the forest is one of the areas in which government can generate revenue, and therefore, needs to protect the forest in the interest of the people.
He said upon completion, the project will provide job opportunities for the citizens and help build their financial capacity.
Meanwhile, Chief Senwah has thanked the FDA management for the project that is intended to improve the living standard of the people.
He pledged that Tolsor citizens will work to ensure that the project is successful to bring benefits to the community.
