Caucus Assures Support To Margibi County Ebola Task Force

KAKATA, September 20 (LINA) - The Chairman of the Margibi County Legislative Caucus says it will remain supportive of the local Ebola Task Force to contain the spread of the virus.
Margibi County is one of six counties with high prevalence of the Ebola virus in the country.
Representative Emmanuel Nuquay said the Caucus will also strive to buttress the work of the County Health Team to attain results that the people of Margibi County will understand that the elected officials are working in their interests.
According to the Liberia News Agency, Nuquay made the statement Friday when he, on behalf of the Margibi County Legislative Caucus, turned over US$11,000 worth of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the CHT the administrative building in Kakata.
Representative Nuquay said donation of the PPEs was “very cardinal” as members of the county health team were the hardest hit in the country.
Mr. Nuquay said the Legislative Caucus was concerned about the safety of health workers and assured that it strive to create an environment conducive for them
to work while saving the lives of people who contract the virus.
Receiving the items, the Director of Community Health Services Department, Mr. Joseph Korhene, thanked members of the Caucus for their timely donation of PPEs to them.
Mr. Korhene said their donation was crucial to the county health team as they were exerting every effort to get the healthcare delivery system of Margibi County back in full swing following its closure last August.
