5 New Ebola Deaths In Grand Bassa

BUCHANAN, September 17 (LINA) - As the fight continues to contain the spread of the Ebola virus, Grand Bassa County has been hit by five new Ebola-related deaths since September 1, 2014.

This brings to 17 the total number of confirmed deaths as a result of the deadly Ebola virus in Grand Bassa County. 

The latest statistics on Ebola prevalence was announced by Chief Spokesman of the Grand Bassa County Ebola Task Force, Adonis Z. Greaves, at the administration building in Buchanan, the provincial capital.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Greaves narrated that from September 1-15, there have been a total number of 22 new cases, 18 confirmed positive and out of this are five confirmed Ebola deaths.

Greaves further revealed that the only district that was not affected by the Ebola virus which is District # 4, has now recorded one confirmed case and one death “which is a sad news for us.”

He attributed this to movement of people during funerals in the District # 2 region, while District #1 is still considered the most affected.
