TUBMANBURG, September 16 (LINA) -The Representative of Senjeh District in Bomi County, S. Garyah Karmo, has donated L$40,000 to Bomi County health workers as a show of appreciation for their sacrifices in saving lives.
Presenting the amount to the health workers over the weekend in Tubmanburg, Representative Karmo recommended that the County Task Force include health workers at the forefront of the fight against the Ebola virus.
Representative Karmo also recommended that funds provided for combating the disease should prioritize health workers as well as other needs.
He said since the crisis is a public health emergency, the people of importance in the eradication of the Ebola virus are the health workers.
Representative Karmo said if enough incentives are provided health workers, Liberians will get the expected results.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the Bomi County health workers, the Acting Health Officer of Bomi County, Dr. Gabriel Logan, lauded the Senjeh District Representative for the gesture.
“The County health workers are grateful to you for being the second person to donate to the health workers in the county,” Dr. Logan said.
He said the first group was the New Water in the Desert Assembly Church near Po River.
He assured that the money will be turned over to the health workers.
