3 Indicted for Rape and Murder in Gbarpolu County

BOPOLU CITY, Jan 22 (LINA) – Three persons indicted by the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit in Bopolu City, Gbarpolu County are expected to stand trial during the February Term of Court.

Court records show that defendant Varney Massaley, aged 15, on December 4, 2013, raped complainant Yaimah Momo, also aged 15, in Weasua Town, Gbarpolu County.

The second defendant Mohammed Saryon is to also stand trial for raping 11 year-old Madusu Kamara in Ballah Bassa Town, Gbarmah District, on December 9, 2013.

The Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court is also expected to commence hearing into an attempted murder case involving defendant Geba Talawaly.

According to court record, defendant Talawaly aged 30, on December 1, 2013, stabbed complainant Sulay Kamara in the stomach in Gbarquoita, Bopolu City, causing his intestine to come out.

Victim Kamara is presently at the John F. Kennedy Medical Center undergoing treatment from the wound he sustained.

Meanwhile, three other cases without indictment are still pending before the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court for legal examination.
