By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, September 14 (LINA) -The Ministry of Health and Social
Welfare has provided about L$9.6 million to the Grand Cape Mount County Health Team (CHT) to enhance its fight against the Ebola virus.

According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), this was disclosed by the CHT head, Dr. Julius Garbo, recently in Sinje during the County Ebola Task Force meeting.

He said the amount provided the County Health Team by the ministry was L$9, 692, 340, and that a portion of this amount will be used for health workers’
incentives as well as salaries for recruits to beef up the manpower during the Ebola crisis.

He said another portion of the fund will go towards the training of ambulance drivers, burial, case management and case investigation.

Dr. Garbo said besides the money the ministry also donated Ebola fighting materials and equipment to encourage the workers to return to work to save lives.

He said the amount will cover the months of September and October.
