By Wellington Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, September 12 (LINA) -The Ebola Response Unit of Ganta in Nimba County has confirmed receiving over US$8,000 from the County Social Development Funds since the outbreak of the Ebola virus.

It said the funding came in two tranches of US$3,000 and US$5,000 respectively.

The Public Relation Officer of the Unit, Eliza Gbeingean, also disclosed that several businessmen, prominent citizens, and community-based organizations have made donations to quarantined families.

Eliza said, food and material items received include sugar, sardines, milk, rice, spoons, plates, cups, oil and detergents.

In a related development, the City Major of Ganta, Dorr Cooper, told the Liberia News Agency on September 11 that those who have provided for their brothers and sisters were worth commending, hailing the collective cooperation of citizens in the wake of the Ebola outbreak.
