19 Released From Quarantine In Cape Mount

ROBERTSPORT, September 12 (LINA) – Nineteen out of 29 persons quarantined in Robertsport, the provincial capital of Grand Cape Mount County, have been released following the expiration of the 21-day observation period.
This was disclosed by the Surveillance Officer of the County Health Team (CHT), Samuel Zayzay, in a report during the County Ebola Task Force Coordination Meeting held in Sinje, Garwula District recently.
He explained that the 29 persons were placed under surveillance when a man suspected to be an Ebola patient died in the area.
Zayzay said in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare Ebola regulations people placed on the quarantine list must be released if they are not sick during the 21 days observance period.
The health practitioner said at present, there are five confirmed cases, eight deaths, two survivors out of the total number of cases reported since the outbreak of the virus in the county.
He commended those who were placed on the quarantine list for their mutual understanding and cooperation with the health team by staying in their respective homes.
Zayzay said a plan has been finalized by the County Health Team (CHT) to certificate the released 19 persons in fulfillment with the Health Ministry guidelines.
