President Pro-Tempore Urges ‘All Hands On Deck’ To Defeat Ebola
By Calvin Brooks
MONROVIA, September 8 (LINA) -President Pro-Tempore of Liberian Senate, Gbehzongar M. Findley, has challenged Liberians to “vigorously get involved” in the fight against the Ebola virus.
Senator Findley said the fight against the deadly virus requires the involvement of all Liberians, no matter their status in the society.
Findley made the statement Monday when he appeared on the Truth Breakfast show to discuss issues relative to the fight against Ebola in Liberia.
He indicated that there will be challenges associated with the fight against Ebola when Liberians do not cooperate with government to adhere to the instruction to report sick people to in the communities to determine their status.
He pointed out that if Liberians were actually following the regulations outlined by the Health Ministry, it would be easy to trace people who have come in contact with infected persons in the communities for early treatment.
He admitted that Ebola is a strange thing to Liberians, noting that all should therefore cooperate with and support the National Ebola Taskforce to do its work rather than try to undermine the function of the force.
