Tubmanburg Mayor Sets Up Ebola Committees

By David Seedee, LINA Bomi County  Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, Sept 4 (LINA) -Tubmanburg City Mayor Rebecca Benson has constituted five committees, comprising mainly community leaders, to lead the fight against the Ebola disease in the city.

She made the disclosure Tuesday in Tubmanburg when she briefed the County Task Force on Ebola during the regular Task Force meeting at the Liberia Government Hospital.

Madam Benson said the committees will disseminate information about Ebola prevention measures in Tubmanburg City.

She said the City Corporation has also created cells within the communities in Tubmanburg to also help disseminate Ebola preventive measures in their areas.

Madam Benson said Ebola prevention messengers will convey the message in the local Gola dialect to clearly inform those who do not understand the English language.

She said T-shirts with Ebola prevention messages printed on them will be provided to the teams to clearly identify them as they spread the anti-Ebola messages.

The City Mayor said even though the City Corporation has not received funding from the County Task Force, it will take the initiative to fight the disease and eradicate it from the city.
