Maryland Police Raises L$75k In Two Weeks

HARPER, September 3 (LINA) - The Maryland County detachment of the Liberia National Police has deposited into government coffers L$75,000 about two weeks after the imposition of the state of emergency.

According to Maryland County Police Commander, David Walker, the amount was raised from tickets issued to motorists who violated laws during the period.

Making the disclosure during a recent meeting held at the county administration building, he said police in the county are vigilant in the enforcement of law and order.

Walker further told the meeting the even though there were challenges facing the police, it will endeavor to uphold the mandate to protect lives and properties.
