MONROVIA, August 31 (LINA) - The chairman of the Bong County Legislative Caucus, Senator Henry Yallah, has called on Liberians to stop “exaggeration of the Ebola situation” in order to restore international trust and confidence in the country.
Senator Yallah said the overstatement of Ebola-related issues is posing serious threat to the country as many investors are either shutting down business activities or afraid to come to the country.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency recently, Yallah noted that while he agrees that people might harbor genuine fear of becoming the next victim, it is important to know that Liberia is heavily reliant on international investment to generate revenue.
Even though he did not name those investments that have been suspended, Yallah said Liberians need to recognize efforts being made by the government and its partners to eradicate the deadly Ebola virus.
He said in challenging times like these, all Liberians need to stand with their leaders because it is those little appreciation and positive steps that will encourage them in performing their functions fully.
“The government may have its own shortcomings, but it would be in your own best interest to give them all the necessary support, cooperation and courage, because whatever wrongs are done reflects Liberia and Liberians to the international community,” he noted.
