KAKATA, August 27 (LINA) - The Salala Rubber Corporation (SRC) has said it will remain fully supportive of government’s efforts to eradicate the Ebola virus from the country.

General Manager Nicolas Bergerot assured that SRC will do its utmost to help the government eradicate the virus, so that the economy will continue to grow for the betterment of the Liberian people.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Bergerot made the statement over the weekend in Camp #1 on the SRC plantation when he launched an Ebola
awareness and sensitization campaign.

Bergerot reminded residents that the Ebola virus was fast spreading, and urged Liberians and their partners to collectively join the fight against the deadly disease that is causing so much harm to the Liberian economy.

He said the Ebola sensitization and awareness campaign will be carried out in all of the six camps of the plantation and surrounding towns and villages on the danger of the virus and how to prevent it.

Speaking earlier, the Medical Director of SRC, McCarty Wheljay, said the purpose of the awareness was to provide adequate information to SRC employees and their dependents as well as areas within five miles radius of the concession area.

In separate remarks, the president of the Salala Agricultural Workers Union (SAWU), Anthony Moses, and Staff Association president, Salomon Penneh, urged fellow workers to take seriously the messages being provided about the danger the virus poses to their lives.
