By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, August 22 (LINA) - Sime Darby Plantation Liberia (SDPL) has donated US$800, chlorine and assorted medical supplies to the Grand Cape Mount County Health Team to beef up its fight against the deadly Ebola virus in the county.

The presentation was made recently during the Ebola Task Force coordination meeting held in Sinje Town, Garwula District.

The Land Reclamation Manager of the company, Daoda V. Metzger, who made the donation, said the management’s attention has been drawn to the outbreak of the Ebola disease which has claimed the lives of some citizens of the county.

He said the donation is the company’s initial contribution towards the battle against the disease, noting that the eradication of the disease is a primary concern of the company to avoid further destruction of lives.

Mr. Metzger commended the County administration and the County Health Team for formulating strategies geared towards preventing the spread of the virus.

Receiving the donation, County Superintendent Imam Mohammed A. Paasewe thanked Sime Darby for the gesture and said the donation will help health workers to fight the spread of the virus in the county.
