BUCHANAN, August 19 (LINA) - Grand Bassa County Legislative Caucus has elected a new corps of officers after two years of an acting leadership.

Those elected were Senator Nyonblee Karnga Lawrence as Chair and Representative J. Byron Brown of District # 3 as Co-Chair, while District #5 Representative  Robertson Siaway retains his post as Secretary General.

Speaking on a local radio at the weekend, Siaway disclosed that the new officers were elected last Thursday in the office of Deputy Speaker Hans Barchue at the Capitol Building in Monrovia in line with democratic norms.

Siaway said the cardinal drive of the Caucus is to ensure that the development of the county is achieved.

Prior to the election of new officers, Rep. Gabriel Buchanan Smith had been acting as chairman of the Caucus since the death of the Caucus Chairman Senator John Francis Whitfield two years ago.
