Port Of Abidjan Reopens To Ebola-Hit Nations

MONROVIA, August 18 (LINA)  -The Managing Director of the Port of Abidjan, E. Kanga, has announced the reopening of the port to all shipping lines, brokers and shipping insurers with immediate effect.

In an announcement published on the Executive Mansion website Monday, Managing Director Kanga said the measures previously announced banning ships from Ebola-affected countries to dock in Abidjan are hereby lifted.

“Therefore, any ship which meets the usual contractual agreement may dock in Abidjan, if they wish to do so,” the announcement said.

The announcement said health measures to be taken by ships coming from Ebola-hit countries will be communicated later.

“The decision is effective immediately and rescinds the previous decision,” the announcement clarified.
