Second Lady Urges Handicaps To Join Fight Against Ebola
MONROVIA, August 18 (LINA) - The Second Lady of Liberia and Executive Director of the Group of ’77, Mrs. Kartumu Y. Boakai, has called on the physically challenged to abide by rules and regulations outlined by the Health Ministry to avoid contacting the Ebola virus.
The Group of ’77 is the institution catering to the welfare of the physically challenged members of the Liberian society.
The Second Lady said at this time of the Ebola crisis, it is important for all Liberians to take serious the preventive measures to contain the spread of the deadly virus that continues to claim the lives of Liberians.
Mrs. Boakai made the call at her Newport Street office Monday when she disclosed plans to distribute to all stations of the Group of ’77 materials that have been purchased to help members of the Group in the fight against the Ebola virus.
According to the Second Lady, she will distribute sanitary buckets, chlorine, Clorox, soap and other items to Group members in Monrovia and around the country with immediate effect.
She said L$150,000 used to purchase the items was donated by the Liberia National Lotteries.
The Second Lady has, meanwhile, extended thanks to the Liberia National Lotteries for the gesture.
