BUCHANAN, August 17 (LINA) - The Nyonblee Care Foundation in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County has donated an assortment of health materials to the Buchanan Government Hospital for use in the fight against the Ebola disease.

The materials include 10 boxes of gloves, bed sheets, pillows, 75 disposable gowns, 1 box of syringes, 25 sets of protective gears and 25 pairs of boots.

Making the presentation Saturday, Senator Nyonblee Karngar Lawrence thanked nurses, health workers and staff of the hospital for the sacrifices they continue to make since the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Senator Karngar, who is founder of the foundation, told health workers that portion of this year's County Development Fund will be set aside to tackle the disease in the county.

She disclosed that the epidemic has hit Districts 1 and 3 in Grand Bassa County and stressed the need for measures to contain the further spread of the disease.

Receiving the items, Dr. Emmanuel Pajebo, head doctor at the hospital, thanked Senator Lawrence for the donation.

He called on citizens to go to the nearest health facility as soon as they notice symptoms of the Ebola virus.

Dr. Pajebo said the Emergency Response Unit is open 24 hours and told citizens to take advantage of the free treatment offered there.
