Senator Taylor Donates To Bong County Citizens

GBARNGA, AUG 15, (LINA) – As part of efforts to curb the spread of the deadly Ebola disease, Bong County Senior Senator Jewel Howard Taylor has donated over 250 hand washing buckets, disinfectants and Thermo flash to citizens and the county leadership.
She said the donation was intended to help save lives during this critical period when citizens are dying of the Ebola virus, and hoped the donation will help transform the situation.
Presenting the items Thursday to Bong County Development Superintendent Anthony Sheriff, Senator Taylor noted that while other the donations have already been made, her items are “intended to reach the unreached.”
She then presented 70 buckets, chlorine, and a Thermo Flash, an instrument used to test temperature, to the Bong County Ebola Task Force and health team, while the Muslim, Christian, LMA, Fula and disable Communities, received ten buckets and one pack of chlorine each.
She also donated one Thermo Flash to the Salala Security Checkpoint, to test travelers, as well as buckets, chlorine and Ebola flyers to civil society groups.
The Bong County Senior Senator also presented bags of 25 kg rice to the local Health Workers Association and consoled them for their colleagues who died while trying to save lives.
Receiving the items, Bong County Development Superintendent Sheriff described the donation as “timely and one that will boost the capacity of the county task force.”
Madam Taylor made a similar donation in the Bong Mines area at a time when most of the hospitals were closed.
