By: D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount Correspondent
ROBERTSPORT, August 14 (LINA) - More than 20 persons have been trained to bury Ebola victims in Grand Cape Mount County, an official of the county health team has disclosed.
The Director of the County Community Health Department, Mr. John Kallon, made the disclosure during an Ebola Task Force Coordination meeting held in Sinje Town, Garwula District recently.
According to the Liberia News Agency, he said the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare conducted the training to enable the county carry out its own burial of Ebola victims.
He said the trainees came from three of the five districts in the county, including Garwula, Tewor and Commonwealth.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kallon has lamented that the burial team lacks logistics, including a vehicle, shovels, diggers, personal protective equipment and other essential materials that will enhance their performance.
Director Kallon is therefore appealing to the Health Ministry, local and international health-related bodies to assist the team with burial materials to enable them perform their duties effectively.
