Lawmaker Calls For More Robust Action To Contain Ebola

By Winnie Dixon (Intern)

Monrovia, August 12 (LINA) - Lofa County Representative Mariamu Fofana has said that the county is no longer interested in sensitization, but rather a more robust action to contain the virus.

She said unlike other counties, the deadly Ebola virus has become a reality in Lofa County and must be dealt with robustly as over five persons are infected daily in the county.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Fofana made the assertion on Tuesday during regular sessions when she updated the House of Representatives on the effect of the virus in Lofa County.

Fofana stressed the need for more isolation units, burial teams and protective gears at each health facility as the virus is killing at least one person a day.

“We need to act fast, do some real actions with the money because the disease is in our face and has become something we are forced to live with and accept,” the Lofa District Number Four lawmaker said.
