Rep. Gray Wants CDF Money For Ebola Fight
By Wilfred Gortor (Intern)
MONROVIA, July 31(LINA) - Montserrado County Representative Acarous M. Gray has called on Government to take money from the County Development Fund (CDF) to increase funding towards the fight against the Ebola outbreak.
He said this money should be put at the disposal of the National Task Force and health authorities for use in the political sub-divisions of the country.
In a statement issued in Monrovia Wednesday, Gray also recommended the speedy passage of the National Budget and additional allotment for the health sector to ensure adequate funding to fight the deadly disease and improve the health system.
District #8 Representative Gray congratulated President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf for constituting the National Ebola Task Force and for “recognizing the seriousness of the threat faced by Liberians.”
“The existence of Ebola within our borders is a major threat to our national existence and indeed, nothing is more important today and in the next several weeks, months and possibly years, than tackling it,” Gray emphasized.
He joined calls for “a robust fight against the deadly Ebola virus that has terrorized the Liberian society and caused the death of several citizens, including health workers.”
