KAKATA, July 29 (LINA) – In the wake of the escalation in the death rate from the deadly Ebola virus in the country, Muslims in Margibi County have joined the Government to fight against the spread of the disease in the country.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Imam Luseni Komah who led the prayer on Monday in Kakata to mark the end of Ramadan, called on all Muslims across the country to believe the existence of the Ebola virus in Liberia and join the fight against the epidemic.

Imam Komah noted that the fight against the Ebola virus includes abiding by all the preventive measures required to stop the spread of the disease adding, “all Muslims in Margibi County must report all suspected cases of Ebola  and their sick relatives  to the nearest health facilities which will protect them and the larger community from being infected “.

Imam Komah said during this year’s Ramadan season, the focus of their prayers to Almighty Allah was to deliver the nation from the Ebola pandemic.

Liberian Muslims joined fellow Muslims around the globe to climax this year’s Holy month of Ramadan on Monday, July 28.

Since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in March it has claimed the lives of 129 persons including health workers.
