Several Receive Crime Prevention Training in Gbarpolu

BOPOLU, GBARPOLU COUNTY, July 28 (LINA) – Over eighty citizens from several towns and villages in Gbarpolu County were recently trained in crime prevention by a team of security experts in the county.
The training which was supervised by UNMIL and the Liberia National Police in Bopolu City, also taught the residents about the importance of reporting crimes to the security.
The two-day training, according to UNMIL and LNP personnel, will assist the residents protect and man their own security effectively in collaboration with the Government.
The participants were advised not to conceal criminals because they are dangerous people.
The participants who came from several districts, towns and villages were further advised to report to the national security and UNMIL anyone harboring criminals in their areas so that they can face the full weight of the law.
The participants commended UNMIL and the Liberia National Police for the training which they said was timely, noting that criminals take advantage of the rainy season to steal from residents.
