ROBERTSPORT, July 25 (LINA)-The Grand Cape Mount County Health Team (CHT) and its partner, Medical Teams International (MTI) have formed an Ebola prevention Task Force to design strategies to contain the spread of the deadly disease.
This was disclosed by the head of the County Health Team (CHT), Dr. Julius Garbo, during an Ebola Response Coordination meeting held in Sinje, Garwula district recently.
Dr. Garbo said the formation of the task force is necessary to help the county health team and partners lobby with government and international health organizations to assist in the fight against the spread of the disease in the county.
The county health team head said the fight against the spread of the deadly virus should claim the attention of every Liberian and not only the Government.
Meanwhile, according to Dr. Garbo, the Health Team is working out modalities for the establishment of Ebola Case Treatment Centers in the county to avoid taking suspected Ebola patients to regular health centers or hospitals at the risk of other people.
He said they have also agreed to train health workers to adequately spread Ebola prevention messages in towns and villages across the county.
He said in order to achieve its Ebola prevention goal, the county health team has appealed to all companies operating in the county to assist with logistics and funding to ensure the success of the initiative.
At the same time, Dr. Garbo has disclosed that the county health team does not have an ambulance at the moment to transport suspected Ebola and other patients to health centers and clinics in the county.
