Two New Suspected Ebola Cases in Cape Mount

By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, July 23 (LINA) -Two new suspected cases of the deadly Ebola disease have been reported in Grand Cape Mount County.

This was disclosed by the Director of the County Health Team (CHT), Dr. Julius Garbo, during the Grand Cape Mount County Ebola Response Coordination meeting held in Sinje, Garwula District on Wednesday.

Dr. Garbo said the two suspected cases were recorded in Gola Konneh and Garwula districts following information gathered by health workers in those areas.

He said the specimens of the suspected Ebola patients are to be sent to the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare in Monrovia for testing to determine the status of the suspects.

He admonished citizens of Grand Cape Mount County not to panic, as Government is doing everything possible to minimize the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, Dr. Garbo wants companies operating in the county to assist the county health team with logistics, including a vehicle that will be used by the Ebola Response Team to monitor and immediately respond to cases.

He also said that the two suspected patients have been quarantined in their respective districts awaiting the result of the examination.
