Two More Ebola Cases Reported In Bong County

GBARNGA, July 22 (LINA) -Two additional persons have been confirmed Ebola positive in Bong County, according to an authority at the Phebe Hospital in Suakoko.

Medical Director Jefferson Sibley told the Liberia News Agency Tuesday that the two persons, a caretaker and a resident of Gbarnga, were admitted at the hospital on Monday, July 21.

According to Dr. Sibley, the two confirmed cases have been transferred to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Monrovia.

Monday’s cases bring to six the total number of Ebola cases confirmed in the county, with the county recording four health workers who have contracted the virus.

The Phebe Hospital Medical Director has, meanwhile, vowed to keep the hospital open, and is calling on the public to make use of the facility.

He also wants the public to stop doubting the existence of the Ebola virus and report all cases to the hospital.

Bong, Nimba, Bomi and Margibi counties recently joined Lofa and Montserrado counties that were first hit by the virus.
