County Inspector Urges Support For Land Certificate Program
By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent
ROBERTSPORT, July 21 (LINA) - Grand Cape Mount County Inspector, Eric Pinney, has admonished citizens of the county to support the tribal land certificate program launched by the Land Commission (LC).
Pinney made the statement recently in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County when he deputized for Superintendent Imam Mohammed A. Paasewe during the launching of the tribal land certificate registration program.
He said the failure of the citizens to support the tribal land certificate registration program could increase the current land disputes in the country, which sometimes result to the death of citizens.
He also explained that at present, there are numerous land disputes in the country, due to the failure of past governments to formulate regulations to guide the selling of public and private lands.
According to him, the time has come for people of Grand Cape Mount County to refrain from vices that have the potential to undermine the land registration process to minimize land conflicts in the county.
