Rep. Chambers Wants TU Budget Upped

MONROVIA, July 17 (LINA) -Maryland County Representative Bhofal Chambers has called for an allotment of US$11.5 million for the Tubman University in the 2014/2015 national budget.

He said this increase in the university’s budget will help it implement some plans and projects to ensure the smooth operation of the institution.

According to a release issued in Monrovia Thursday, Chambers some of the projects are the erection of a modern laboratory and a dormitory for the institution that had an enrollment of over 838 students during the 2013/2014 academic year.

Representative Chambers stated that the institution “is very essential to the nation-building process and as such everything must be done to ensure that its needs are met.”

TU in the 2013/2014 national budget had an allotment of about US$7 million.

Meanwhile, the Maryland County Representative has joined calls for the Press Union of Liberia to be considered in the 2014/2015 national budget.
