County Attorney Says No Court House In River Gee
By Robert Dixon

MONROVIA, July 14 (LINA) - River Gee County Attorney, Wesseh A. Wesseh, has disclosed that the county lacks a court house for the adjudication of legal matters.

He said as a result, judicial officials have been using a space in the Fish Town City Hall as a temporary Court House since 2000, noting that this was hampering the judicial process in the county.

In an interview with a team of journalists in the Monrovia suburb of Clara Town at the weekend, Wesseh said he also lacks an office from which to perform his duties, compelling him to use alternative means to work.

He disclosed that the judiciary under former Chief Justice Johnnie Lewis, made an allotment of US$200,000 in the 2010-2011 National Budget to construct a court house in the county, but the money was allegedly misapplied by a local contractor.

“As we stand, the building that was to be constructed by a local contraction company as a court house for the county is in ruins, even the structure is falling apart,” Atty. Wesseh indicated.
