DEO Lauds MOE For School Grant Scheme
By Wellington Patrick, LINA Nimba County Correspondent

SANNIQUELLIE, July 15 (LINA) -The Bain-Garr Education District Officer, Lynon Martor, has said the Ministry of Education ongoing school grant program was a meaningful step to the growth and development of the education system.

Mr. Martor said the school grant, which targets 26 public schools in the school district, might be the requisite remedy to the lack of seating capacity, stationeries, and damage caused to school property.

DEO Martor told the Liberia News Agency at the weekend that the PTAs and school boards targeted by the Liberian school grant have begun developing their school Grant Utilization Plan in the district.

In another development, the DEO has begun assigning government instructors at the second newly-created high school in the district.

The Child Friendly School, which was constructed by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in 2008, has been elevated to full high school, DEO Martor said.

Mr. Martor said the newly-created high school will mitigate the huge influx of students to the J.W. Pearson High School in Ganta experienced in the past years.

Meanwhile, the DEO is calling for additional government high schools and instructors in the school system to support quality academic activities in the district.
