Official Urges Girls To Embrace Training
By Richard Baysah, LINA Margibi County Correspondent

KAKATA, July 14 (LINA) - The Field Operations Manager of Save the Children International in Margibi County has admonished young females to take advantage of training opportunities to be on par with their male counterparts.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Charles Seeve made the statement Monday at the close of a nine-month apprenticeship skills training program at the Sirleaf Estate in Kakata, Margibi County.

Seeve observed that many young Liberian girls are at a disadvantage in training activities in the country and called on them to be focused and prepare themselves to become bread winners in the near future.

He also called on parents to demonstrate parental guidance and moral support as the successor failure of their children greatly depends on what they do to prepare the girl child.

About 61 girls were trained in soap making, cosmetology, tailoring, carpentry, and auto mechanics.

Each was given a startup toolkit in line with the training received.

Funding for the project was provided by the United States Agency for International Development.
