Marketers To Support Ebola Awareness In Lofa
By Korboi Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent

VOINJAMA, July 11 (LINA) -Market authorities in Lofa County have promised to cooperate with any organization engaging in awareness campaigns on the Ebola virus in the county.

Making the disclosure in an interview with the Liberia News Agency Friday in Voinjama, the Liberia Marketing Association Lofa County branch Chairlady, Krubo Mavolo, said it is important for marketers to join the campaign.

She said marketers could serve as main conduits in spreading the message since they interact with groups of people from across the county on a daily basis.

Mavolo said marketers are prepared to work along with the County Health Team to carry on the awareness on preventive measures against the deadly Ebola virus in Lofa County.

Madam Mavolo’s statement comes in the wake of recent rumors in Voinjama City that marketers have planned to resist any health team and organization carrying out awareness and spraying some parts of the market grounds where Ebola patients are suspected.

She told LINA that the Ministry of Health is right in undertaking such campaign, and emphasized that the LMA is fully prepared to buttress government especially when it comes to the prevention of the Ebola virus.

Madam Mavolo is, meanwhile, urging all marketers and citizens of Lofa County to take the issue of Ebola seriously by following the message and advice of health workers to prevent the spread of the deadly virus.
