SANNIQUELLIE, July 11 (LINA) -The Workers Union of the United Methodist Hospital in Ganta, Nimba County has embarked on the construction of a 12-bedroom Caretakers’ Home.

The president of the Union, Ephraim Pangean, told the Liberia News Agency on Thursday that the project is an initiative of nurses of the hospital as a humanitarian gesture.

He said it has been observed by the Union that many caretakers sleep on the floor while catering to patients.

He said the project, which began early June, is expected to be completed by December this year.

He put the cost of the project atUS$18,000 and disclosed that each employee of the hospital is contributing US$50 per month towards the project.

Meanwhile, according to Pangean, the Union is calling on prominent citizens of Nimba and donors to support the project.
