GDPL Political Leader Urges Youth To Be Honest

By Robert Dixon

MONROVIA, July 8 (LINA) -The leader of the Grassroots Democratic Party of Liberia (GDPL), Madam Gladys Y. Beyan, has told Liberian youths that honesty is a key factor to success in their undertakings in life.

The GDPL is one of the registered political parties of Liberia that participated in the 2011General and Presidential elections.

Madam Beyan also admonished youths to be humble, avoid taking emotional decisions and denounce all forms of violence as a means of resolving issues, adding, “violence only escalates the problem and leads you into more suffering, frustration or even death.”

According to the Liberia News Agency, Madam Beyan made the call in her keynote address delivered at the joint program marking the graduation exercises of the St Mathew Lutheran Kindergarten, Elementary, Junior and Senior High School.

Rev. Anthony Mulbah, Chaplain of the Grassroots Democratic Party of Liberia, served as proxy for Madam Beyan.

She pointed out that, if one is keen on success, that individual must be hardworking, citing the old saying, “no food for lazy man, or sleeping fox catches no prey.”

Madam Beyan urged the graduates to make the difference as the education system in the country has been labeled as” a mess.”

Meanwhile, Madam Beyan has announced her intention to contest the Lofa County senatorial seat in the October 2014 mid-term senatorial election.

Madam Beyan served  as Lofa County Representative from 1986-1990.
