Educator Wants Subsidy For All Private School
By Korboi Gbelewala, LINA Lofa County Correspondent
VOINJAMA, July 8 (LINA) -The Principal of the Voinjama Free Pentecostal Mission School is calling on government to provide subsidies for all private and mission schools in the country.
Rev. Armah Ndebe Varfe said private and mission schools are contributing immensely to the country’s education system, and hence that Government should see reason to empower them.
Rev Ndebe Varfee pointed out that most private and mission schools depend on tuition paid by students to meet their operational costs, noting that this is creating difficulties for these schools.
According to the Liberia News Agency, Rev. Varfee made the call at the weekend when he delivered his principal’s message at programs marking the school’s graduation ceremony.
He said though some private and mission schools were benefiting from government subsidy, it was only fair that all schools be considered for this subvention because all schools were helping to mold the minds of future leaders.
