CSA Official Brags Of Payroll Gains
By Chris Nyenapee, LINA Grand Gedeh County Correspondent

ZWEDRU CITY. July 5 (LINA) -The Director of Region II of the Civil Service Agency (CSA), Freddie Goe, has said the agency has done much to curtail the mishandling of personnel services since taking over government payroll.

He noted that since the CSA began posting regional directors around the country, much progress has been made in curbing payroll padding, deletion of ghost names and personnel list audit with the help of the biometric system.

Goe told the Liberia News Agency recently in Zwedru that people are beginning to understand and get adjusted to the agency’s effort as it uncovers many defaults, including people who do not work but get paid at the expense of others.

He said since the biometric system was introduced, about 2,000 ghost names have been deleted from government payroll, noting that some adjustment is underway for employees to get their just pay, while others sidelined in the past are now getting salary regularly.

The CSA Region II office located in Zwedru covers Grand Gedeh, Grand Kru, Maryland, River Gee and Sinoe counties.

He hoped the 2014/15 fiscal budget will take care of some logistics to enable the regional office perform its tasks more effectively.
