By D. Ignatius Roberts, LINA Grand Cape Mount Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, July 5 (LINA) -The Grand Cape Mount County branch of the Alternative National Congress (ANC)  has elected Representative Simeon Taylor as its candidate for the October 2014 Mid-term Senatorial election.

Mr. Taylor was elected recently in Sinje, Garwula District during the party’s primary which was supervised by an executive of the party, Alexander Sonpon.

The election was conducted on an “electoral college” basis in which the five districts in the county produced six voters each to participate in the process.

During the process, Taylor defeated his opponent, Victor Watson, 26 votes to one out of the total 30 votes cast, with three invalid votes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Taylor thanked the electorate for his preferment and vowed to uphold the rules and regulations for peace and unity to prevail in the party.

He urged the ANC Grand Cape Mount County partisans to refrain from actions that will portray a bad image of the party.
