UP Bomi Branch Picks Saytumah For Senatorial Polls

By David Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent

TUBMANBURG, June 29 (LINA) - The ruling Unity Party Bomi County branch has elected Morris Saytumah as the party's candidate for the October Mid-term Senatorial Election in the county.

Mr. Saytumah was elected Friday on a White Ballot after Senator Lahai Lasanna resigned from the party two days before the primary.

Lasanna is said to have resigned on grounds that the minds of some executives of the party were made up to support Saytumah even before the primary.

Speaking after the primary, Saytumah said his election was an indication of the party’s resolve to transform the county.

He called on his supporters to work hard to ensure that the Unity Party maintains the county’s senior Senatorial seat in the forthcoming election.

Saytumah said with the support of UP partisans, sympathizers and friends, he was confident of victory.
