Clergyman Criticizes Children Playground in Tubmanburg
By David Seedee, LINA Bomi County Correspondent
TUBMANBURG, June 22 ( LINA ) - A Clergyman in Tubmanburg, Bomi County, Rev. Stephen Kollie, has described the construction of the Children Playground in Tubmanburg as a waste of government funds.
Rev. Kollie said instead of constructing a children playground, government should have instituted special programs to organize children-related activities for the active participation of children in the county’s development.
Speaking in an interview with Radio Bomi in Tubmanburg Saturday, Rev. Kollie said since the Children’s Playground was constructed in 2013 it has not organized programs for the physical and intellectual development of the children.
Meanwhile, Rev. Kollie is calling on authorities of the Gender Ministry in the county and child rights groups to intervene so that the Right to Play Programs for children in the county will be fully implemented on the playground that is always abandoned.
Rev. Kollie is also calling on the county administration to use this year’s July 26 Independence Day celebration to invite sports technicians to train and organize special sporting activities for children in the county.
