Leaky Chamber Disrupts House Session

By Wilfred Gortor and Winnie S. Dixon, Interns

MONROVIA, June 10 (LINA) -The House of Representatives on Tuesday could not convene regular session in its own chamber due to the heavy down pour that resulted to leakage in the roof of the chamber.

According to the Liberia News Agency, many of the lawmakers were seen in dismay over the condition of their regular meeting hall.

After hours of rain, members of the House later moved to the joint chamber, which is reserved for sessions by both Houses when there is a need for concurrence on an issue, and other functions.

Following the relocation, the public address system in the joint chamber did not work, forcing the Representatives to speak louder to be audible across the room.

The lawmakers were also not arranged by counties as is the case in the regular chamber.
