CDC Ends Primary In Region Four

GBARNGA, JUNE 8 (LINA) – As the October 14, 2014 Mid-term Senatorial Election draws near, the opposition Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) has ended its primary in Region Four.

The party’s Region Four comprises of Bong, Lofa, Nimba and Margibi counties.

The primary held at the party’s headquarters in Gbarnga, Bong County lasted to the early hours of Sunday and witnessed the election of Mr. Augustus J. Flomo, Counselor Yormie Quoiquoi Gbasaye, Galakpai Kortima and Dean Ansu Sonni on the party’s ticket for Bong, Nimba, Lofa, and Margibi counties respectively.

Mr. Flomo and Cllr. Gbasaye were elected on white ballot, while Kortimai and Dean Sonni defeated their opponents 12 out of 17 delegates and 35 out of 50 delegates respectively.

Cllr. Gbasaye was not at the primary due to ill health.
