Thieves Frustrate Disabled In Voinjama

VOINJAMA, June 7 (LINA) -The head of the Lofa County Disabled Association has expressed frustration over the frequent theft of property belonging to disabled people by criminals in Voinjama city and its environs.
Madam Ballah Yarmah disclosed that recently criminals burglarized their office in Voinjama and made away with several valuables, including two boxes of tools for wheel chairs repair as well as and rain boots.
She told the Liberia News Agency at the weekend that criminals have also stolen the corn planted in the association’s garden in Voinjama, while on one occasion their office generator was also stolen, but later retrieved by the police.
Madam Yarmah has, meanwhile, appealed to the Liberia National Police to intervene and assist the disabled community retrieve the Association’s stolen materials.
Madam Yarmah is also urging the police to increase its night patrols during the rainy season, noting that this will help curtail the crime rate in Voinjama City and its environs.
