Episcopal Church Slates Workshop For Businesswomen

By D. Ignatius Roberts, Grand Cape Mount County Correspondent

ROBERTSPORT, June 5 (LINA) – The Episcopal Church in Liberia has organized a two-day workshop to build the financial management capacity of women in small business in Robertsports, Grand Cape Mount County.

Under the auspices of the Episcopal Church of Liberia Relief and Development Organization (ECLRDO), the workshop is expected to attract scores of women from across Grand Cape Mount County.

ECLRADO Coordinator Agnes Wilson Perkins told the Liberia News Agency Thursday that at the end of the training workshop, the organization will empower participants through loans to upgrade their businesses.

She said the training will prepare participants to establish their own bank accounts and attain efficient management skills.

Perkins added that participants will be commissioned to train others in their districts.

She said besides women empowerment, her organization has provided fishing boats, nets and engines to fishermen in Tosor and other parts of the county.

According to Madam Perkins, the ECLRDO has also been involved in the cultivation of vegetable as well as provision of seed rice to encourage farmers to make large farms to benefit their communities.
