By Prince Nagbe

MONROVIA, Jan 13 (LINA) - Sinoe County Development Superintendent Thomas Romeo Quiah has disclosed that scholarships worth over US$30,000 were awarded to 138 Sinoe students studying at various universities in the country by the county authorities.

Quiah told the Liberia News Agency Monday that the scholarships are intended to enable the students acquire quality education to return home and contribute to the county’s educational sector.

He thanked the Education Ministry and the Liberia Teacher Training Program (LTTP) for the new data processing and tracking of teachers to not only clean the payroll of ghost names but also remove unqualified teachers from the classrooms.

He called on all well-meaning and qualified citizens of Sinoe residing in Monrovia to return to the county and contribute their quota to its growth and development, especially in the educational sector which is the basis for the growth and development of any nation.
