Cape Palmas High Renovation At Standstill
By John Bropleh, LINA Maryland County Correspondence

HARPER, June 3 (LINA) – Renovation work on the Cape Palmas High School in Harper, Maryland County has come to a standstill ‘for unexplained reasons’, according to Principal Hansen Murray.

Renovation of the school, which began early this year, was being undertaken by the Liberia Agency for Community Empowerment (LACE).

Murray, who took the Liberia News Agency Correspondent on a tour of the school over the weekend, showed a portion of the roof that has been blown off by strong winds, while half of the school fence collapsed as a result of erosion.

The school has been flooded as a result of two days of heavy rainfall, compelling most students to stay away from class, while others defy the situation to sit in the water.

Meanwhile, Murray is appealing to LACE to return and complete the project to enable the more than 200 students enrolled at the institution to continue their studies.
