Nimba County Senator Urges Tolerance Among Liberians
By Calvin Brooks

MONROVIA, June 1(LINA) - Nimba County Senator, Thomas S. Grupee, has challenged Liberians to be tolerant in dealing with others, no matter the differences between them.

He observed that without tolerance among Liberians, it would be difficult to achieve reconciliation and unification in the country.

The Nimba County lawmaker made the statement over the weekend at
the 50th Anniversary Celebration of National Unification Day held at the Liberia Chamber of Commerce on Capitol Hill in Monrovia.

He said while the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL) is still in the country, Liberians should do all they can to ensure that peace and national reconciliation are achieved before the peacekeeping force’s departure.

He emphasized the need to put the relevant mechanisms in place to ensure that the peace and security of the state are not be threatened, and spare the country from retrogressing to its ugly past.

Senator Grupee observed that it is becoming worrisome how Liberians engage in lying against each other and trying to destroy their brothers and sisters.

“Liberians should love one another to consolidate the gains made over the years to sustain the peace and ensure national reconciliation and unification, despite the diversity of the people,” he added.
